Modge Podge Leaf Bowl

Now this bowl isnt the strongest item I have ever made but it is one of my favourites. I am part of the planner community. Yep I am one of those people who delight in planning out my week, making lists, decorating my planners, keeping a Midori and a Sewdori. I simply cannot get enough of all things planning. Well last autumn a lovely lady in our planner community offered some fabric leaves if anyone wanted them, I asked if it was possible to have one thinking that I could use it as a planner charm but when I received my post I had a whole bundle. So roll on a couple of weeks and I'm sat at my dining room table wondering what I could make with my pile. So I grabbed a cereal bowl, covered it in cling film and sat gluing the leaves to the outside with some glittery Modge Podge I had been holding onto. The next day once the glue had dried I removed it from the clingfilm and placed it inside the bowl to retain the shape whilst I covered the inside with the remaining Modge P

Rebranding

I recently went through a re-band. When I started Trading I called myself Doodlemakes. A name that I came to because I like to doodle and I like to make things. Not complicated and probably quite self explanatory. Deciding on a name is a tremendous decision, finding a word or a couple of words that represent what you are offering in the market place is tough. There are so many factors you want to weigh up but you also want to make it feel spontaneous and not over thought! It can also be tricky because if your items are handmade you have to constantly evolve and follow trends so it's distinctly hard to pin down what style you actually want. So with everything above in mind I sought the help of Jo from +Driven by Design Ltd to design me a logo. Jo was so good and helpful and just understood what I wanted straight away. Market Night 'dun dun dun'

I am having a Market Night and I am terrified. Why would I tell you I am terrified I hear you ask. Well a market night is a pretty big deal. I sell my items online but mostly in shops. I haven't been brave enough to hold a market night in the 2 years and 4 months that I have been trading because of 'the fear'! What happens if I don't sell anything? What happens if no one sees my posts, what happens if people share my items and comment that no one is buying anything, have I then failed? The reality is that its okay. If I don't sell anything I then have new stock to send to the shops I stock in. It's okay because I also need more stock for the online market places I stock in and it also probably means I haven't failed. When you create things you are baring a part of your inner self.
